A few of the questions we hear most often during construction are below. You can read the full Construction FAQ in the Information and Resources section.

What will I see during construction?

Construction moves through the project in phases, so activity near any one place is temporary. You may see survey crews, road and foundation work, underground cable installation, turbine deliveries, and cranes assembling the turbines. As crews finish a section, restoration begins behind them.

Does the project have a road use agreement?

Yes. We work under road use agreements with Kankakee and Livingston Counties that set clear expectations for how roads are used and maintained. Roads that need upgrades for construction equipment are improved as part of the project, and those improvements stay in place afterward, leaving the counties with better roads than they started with.

How does the project protect drain tile?

We work to identify existing drain tile before construction begins and monitor it throughout the work. If any tile is accidentally disrupted during construction, we repair it.

How will I stay up to date during construction?

We post regular construction updates to the project website, including haul route schedules, traffic notices, and upcoming work near local roads. You can also contact our team with questions at any time.
